The Best Co-Op Games You Can Play On PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium
This article lists the best local co-op and split-screen games on PS Plus. But online co-op is also viral, and Sony remembers it. What are the best online games with multiple players on PS Plus?

April PS Plus Essential: Meet Your Maker
Meet Your Maker can be “bought” by any PS Plus member in April 2023, and the game came out right away on Sony’s service. The Behavior Interactive project is a community-driven online game where players build outposts to defend against raids that other people plan. Players can work with another person to develop or attack, creating a fun and relatively strong co-op experience.
The outpost crafting part of the game is probably the most fun overall, but raiding can also be fun. The second one is a typical first-person shooter, and it’s easy for two people to play together.
Outriders
When Outriders came out, it got good, but not great, reviews. The game’s combat is excellent, with fun third-person shooting and a wide range of skills for each of the four classes.
As a loot-and-shoot game, the game constantly gives players new things to try, so they always have something new. This kind of game makes people want to change their gear all the time instead of sticking to a few pieces. Outriders make this process fun by giving players loot that looks good.
Outriders are fun to play alone, but it’s even better when played with others. Even though that might sound like an obvious thing to say, the game’s combat system does get better when there are more people around.
This lets players make builds that work well together and takes the chaos to a whole new level. The story is normal but should keep players interested until they get to the endgame content.
Ghost Of Tsushima: Legends
Ghost of Tsushima is a great action-adventure game with a strong campaign for one player. A few months after the main game, Sucker Punch released Legends, a side co-op game deep enough to stand alone. Legends have common game modes like Survival and a Story mode that takes two players through about 6 hours of content.
The four classes in Legends are Samurai, Ronin, Assassin, and Hunter. Each fits a certain archetype and has a role they should play in battle. Some options, like the Samurai, can be used by one or two players, but classes like the Ronin are made to be used with help.
Back 4 Blood
Back 4 Blood is a first-person co-op shooter like Left 4 Dead. It was added to PS Plus Extra in January 2023. Turtle Rock’s project doesn’t try to hide where it got its ideas from, which is good since there are only a few other projects like it. Back 4 Blood has good gameplay and graphics, and it also lets players change their loadouts with a system based on cards.
Back 4 Blood’s playable survivors look the same on the outside. Each character has different skills and weapons by default. This makes it easier for teams to assemble groups of survivors who work well together.
Dragon Quest Builders 2
Compared to most of the best online co-op PS Plus games, the multiplayer part of Dragon Quest Builders 2 is not the game’s main draw. Most of the time, the spin-off is a good experience for a single player.
As the story goes on, players can go to the Isle of Awakening and Explorer Shores, where the multiplayer parts of the game are. This part of the package needs to be emphasized in the game, so it seems more like a bonus than a prominent feature.
Even so, Builders 2’s co-op is still a fun way to pass the time, as long as friends know they won’t be moving through the story together. Players can go to each other’s islands and build with them or look at what they have made. The primary purpose of a co-op is to give friends a place to make things together. It does not affect the main campaign.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War
Another zombie shooter akin to Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Rebellion Developments. The game is set in an alternate version of World War II, where Adolf Hitler unleashes a zombie apocalypse in order to turn the tide of the war in his favor.
Players take on the role of one of four survivors, who must battle their way through hordes of Nazi zombies in various locations throughout Europe, such as Venice, Italy, and the zombie-infested streets of Berlin, Germany. Along the way, players can upgrade their weapons and abilities, and even summon powerful demonic entities to aid them in combat.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War features both a single-player campaign and a cooperative multiplayer mode, where up to four players can team up to take on the zombie horde together. The game also includes various challenges and game modes, such as Horde Mode and Score Attack, to keep players engaged and entertained.
Overall, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a fun and thrilling game that combines elements of World War II history with zombie horror, and offers plenty of action-packed gameplay and intense co-op battles.
Demon’s Souls (2020)
The Souls games by FromSoftware have a unique way for players to visit each other’s worlds, and the Demon’s Souls remake is no different. Players can either invade and fight or be called upon to help to depend on the item they use. Even though the first one gets more attention, the second one is also a common thing to do.
Up to four people can get together to take on the game’s many difficult fights. If a helper dies or beats a boss, they are returned to their universes. It’s important to know that two PvP invaders can show up while co-op is going on and change the story.
Payday 2: Crimewave Edition
Payday 2 will be ten years old in 2023, and the multiplayer shooter is still as popular as ever. The idea behind the game is simple but brilliant: work with friends to pull off heists. You can do missions yourself, but Payday 2 is meant to be played with a consistent group of friends.
The progression system is based on getting better gear and skills, both of which improve the professionalism of a crew. So, players feel they are improving with each heist as their crew slowly turns into a well-oiled machine.
